They started out pressing their own records on <strong>Gee Street Records<\/strong>, their independent label, before catching the attention of <strong>4th &amp; Broadway<\/strong> and later, <strong>Island Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their breakthrough came in <strong>1992<\/strong> with <em>Connected<\/em>\u2014an album that hit <strong>number two on the UK charts<\/strong> and produced anthems like <em>Step It Up<\/em>, <em>Creation<\/em>, and <em>Ground Level<\/em>. That success earned them <strong>two Brit Awards<\/strong> for Best Group and Best Album, solidifying their status as pioneers of live dance music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the years, Stereo MC\u2019s have shared the stage with icons like <strong>De La Soul, Living Colour, Happy Mondays<\/strong>, and <strong>Jane\u2019s Addiction<\/strong>.
