Written for the sister who stood by him through his own battles with hearing loss and tinnitus, <em>Paid Becso Am Dim <\/em>translates to \u201cDon\u2019t worry about a thing.\u201d It\u2019s Rhodri\u2019s way of repaying the comfort she gave as he battled noise sensitivity\u2014now transformed into shimmering synth lines, warm vocals and a chorus that feels like a reassuring hug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re a fan of Air\u2019s lush atmospheres, Caribou\u2019s rhythmic soul or Gruff Rhys\u2019s off-kilter charm, you\u2019re in for a treat. When Estrons wrapped in 2019, years of relentless touring took their toll and Rhodri was diagnosed with significant hearing damage. Unable to play live, he spent 2022 walking the entire 900-mile Wales Coastal Path while composing his debut album, \u2018Cantref,\u2019 entirely in his head. His sister\u2019s unwavering support during that time became the spark for heddlu\u2014Welsh for \u201cpeace-force\u201d\u2014a project devoted to sonic calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the next two years, Rhodri experimented with new textures and sounds, even scrapping an album\u2019s worth of material as life\u2019s surprises reshaped his vision.
