DIIV are back \u2014 not just with a new single, but with one of the most emotionally raw and intimate pieces they\u2019ve ever released. Return of Youth<\/em> is the first song to emerge since\u00a0\u2018Frog in Boiling Water\u2019\u00a0dropped last May, and it lands like a gut punch \u2014 delicate, devastating, and drenched in meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song comes with a video filmed in the wreckage left behind by the Altadena wildfires earlier this year, which destroyed frontman Zachary Cole Smith\u2019s home as he and his family prepared for the birth of their second child. It\u2019s a deeply personal moment captured on film \u2014 haunting, beautiful, and impossible to look away from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a letter to fans, Cole opened up about the track\u2019s origins. Still, the message that remains is one of resilience. \u201cYou just keep on living, I guess. Life happens on life’s terms.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
