The new single,&nbsp;<em>In The Paddies<\/em>, is a swirling, surrealist anthem that stands tall as the narrative core of the album \u2013 and it\u2019s every bit as intense and bizarre as you&#8217;d hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Describing the song, frontman Andreas Christoloudis says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<em>In The Paddies<\/em>\u00a0is from the point of view of a character who summons various members of the dead throughout history to rise in a muddy field and asks them what it would take to allow their souls to rest peacefully.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, yeah \u2013 this isn\u2019t your average indie rock fare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ah-MMd9yP24?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Following two buzzworthy EPs (\u2018Pure Misery\u2019 in 2022 and\u00a0\u2018A Small Crowd Gathered To Watch Me\u2019\u00a0in 2023),\u00a0\u2018Learning Greek\u2019\u00a0ramps things up across 11 tracks of jagged riffs, volcanic tension, and a dead-serious take on the loud\/quiet\/louder dynamic. It\u2019s the sound of a band reaching for something raw and mythic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They kicked off the rollout with the hard-edged&nbsp;<em>Neighbours<\/em>, which marked their first ever appearance on the BBC 6 Music playlist. That was followed by&nbsp;<em>Plagiarist<\/em>&nbsp;in April and the Iliad-inspired&nbsp;<em>Memorial<\/em>&nbsp;in May. Each single leans further into Humour\u2019s uniquely chaotic, literate world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The record was produced by Rod Jones of Idlewild at Post Electric in Edinburgh and will be available in multiple physical formats \u2013 including a limited Dinked edition LP, a Rough Trade exclusive vinyl paired with a zine, and all the usual digital suspects. Christoloudis also contributed illustrations and lyrics for the zine, adding another layer to the band\u2019s visual and conceptual universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Catch Humour Live This Summer + Their Biggest UK Tour Yet This Fall<\/strong><br>Humour are hitting the road in a big way, with instore gigs and a full UK headline tour planned around the release. They\u2019ll also be storming the stage at 2000 Trees next weekend.
