It\u2019s a heavy, soul-baring return\u2014Balfe\u2019s first full-length since his seismic self-titled debut in 2021\u2014and it\u2019s already shaping up to be one of the most powerful records of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside the announcement, Balfe has shared&nbsp;<em>No Scheme<\/em>, a gripping new single that digs into the numb drift of adulthood. A \u201cspiritual successor\u201d to fan favourite&nbsp;<em>Top Scheme<\/em>, this one trades riotous fury for something a little more bruised and reflective. \u201c<em>We\u2019ve all got real jobs and we\u2019re bored,<\/em>\u201d he laments, calling for the seizure of the \u201c<em>means of chronic boredom from the bourgeoisie<\/em>\u201d with a wink and a jab. Where his debut album focused inward, mourning the death of a close friend, this record casts its gaze outward to the wider collapse around him. It\u2019s an album shaped by the erosion of working-class life, by the emotional toll of Dublin\u2019s housing crisis, by the everyday push-pull between surviving and meaning-making. There\u2019s beauty too\u2014soaring strings, big drums, cinematic synths, and plenty of Balfe\u2019s signature spoken-word intensity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And of course, he\u2019s taking it on the road. For the first time,&nbsp;For Those I Love&nbsp;will tour Ireland and hit some of the biggest UK stages to date.
