Clear your calendar and dust off your earplugs\u2014L7<\/strong> are throwing themselves a birthday party, and we\u2019re all invited. On Friday, October 3<\/strong>, the legendary punk-grunge powerhouse will take over The Belasco Theater<\/strong> in downtown Los Angeles for L7\u2019s 40th Anniversary Bash<\/strong>, a night that promises to be just as unhinged and electric as their four-decade legacy demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lineup? Just announced and already iconic: L7<\/strong>, Lunachicks<\/strong>, and CSS<\/strong> are set to bring the noise. Yep, it\u2019s a triple shot of chaos, charisma, and pure rock adrenaline\u2014and that\u2019s just the start. More performers are still to be revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks the second year in a row L7 have stormed The Belasco. Their 2024 Fast and Frightening Takeover<\/strong> lit up the LA scene with music, art, and wall-rattling energy, drawing attention from LA Times<\/em>, KCRW<\/em>, BrooklynVegan<\/em>, and basically anyone who still believes in the power of live music. Now, they\u2019re back\u2014and this time it\u2019s personal. Think: bigger party, louder riffs, and a whole lot of cathartic chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The night is curated by L7 frontwoman\u00a0Donita Sparks<\/strong>, who summed it up best: \u201cThis will mark the second year of our annual takeover… and it coincides with L7\u2019s 40th anniversary, so we are making it a big party!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Donita and bassist\u00a0Suzi Gardner<\/strong>\u00a0first formed L7 back in 1985, surviving lineup changes, industry BS, and what she lovingly calls \u201cmisogynist rock dinosaurs<\/em>.\u201d Through it all, they\u2019ve not only survived\u2014they\u2019ve\u00a0thrived<\/em>. And now they\u2019re throwing a party with the people who\u2019ve been part of the wild ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunachicks<\/strong>\u00a0will reunite with L7 onstage for the first time since\u00a01990<\/em>\u2014a full-circle moment that takes us back to their shared CBGBs stomping grounds. Sparks calls it \u201ca momentous event of insanity and rock and roll.<\/em>\u201d Add\u00a0CSS<\/strong>\u00a0to the mix, and you\u2019ve got a genre-defying, dance-your-face-off energy boost that\u2019ll leave your Doc Martens melted to the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bash will feature\u00a0five bars<\/strong>,\u00a0two stages<\/strong>, and a\u00a0fully all-ages<\/strong>\u00a0setup\u2014so whether you\u2019ve been moshing since the ’90s or you\u2019re just now discovering what real rock feels like, there\u2019s space for you in the pit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
