A record that hits different<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Selling A Vibe\u2019 has landed with serious impact on both sides of the pond. Support has poured in from The New York Times, Stereogum, The Guardian, NME, Consequence, BrooklynVegan, BBC 6 Music, Sirius AltNation<\/strong>, and plenty more \u2014 a reminder that The Cribs still matter, and still connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At their core, The Cribs have always worn their hearts on their sleeves. Raw, honest, melody-driven songs with just enough grit to keep things grounded. But this time around, that honesty turns inward. \u2018Selling A Vibe\u2019 is the first record where the brothers openly examine their relationship with each other \u2014 not just as bandmates, but as family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After years of the release\u2013tour\u2013repeat grind (and living across three different time zones), the band hit pause. No writing. No demos. Just a summer spent reconnecting. After 20 years together, that reset became the emotional foundation of the album \u2014 and you can feel it in the songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breaking the bottle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For the production, The Cribs deliberately avoided going back to familiar territory. Having already worked with legends like Steve Albini, Ric Ocasek, Edwyn Collins, Dave Fridmann<\/strong>, and Alex Kapranos<\/strong>, they wanted something new. Enter Patrick Wimberly<\/strong> (Chairlift), whose r\u00e9sum\u00e9 includes Solange, MGMT, and Lil Yachty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal? Push the pop sensibility further than ever before \u2014 without losing the band\u2019s DNA. The result is a slower, more intentional recording process that gives melody room to breathe.
