Clara and Anders Bach have announced their second EP,&nbsp;\u2018<strong>I Am Obsessed<\/strong>,\u2019 landing&nbsp;<strong>10th April via Mute<\/strong>, and it\u2019s shaping up to be their most intense, unfiltered release yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To mark the announcement, the band have shared the EP\u2019s lead single and title track,&nbsp;<strong><em>I Am Obsessed<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 a twitchy, off-kilter burst of rave-pop that perfectly captures their ability to make fixation feel physical. It opens with uneasy piano stabs before spiralling into something darker and more invasive, with Clara\u2019s lyrics tracing obsession as something that lives under your skin: dirt under fingernails, crumbs in bedsheets, thoughts lodged deep in your chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Clara puts it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s about being completely obsessed with something or someone, but not in a cute way \u2014 more in a \u2018your whole body is under attack\u2019 kinda way. A&nbsp;<strong>Dinked Early Doors vinyl<\/strong>&nbsp;has been announced, pairing&nbsp;<em>I Am Obsessed<\/em>&nbsp;with their debut EP&nbsp;\u2018<strong>I\u2019m Not Your PUNCHBAG\u2019<\/strong>&nbsp;in one combined release \u2014 a neat way to capture the full arc of their evolution so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If their first EP felt like an introduction, this one zooms right in. The band describe it perfectly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cIf our first EP was a selfie, these new songs are like zooming in and thinking, \u2018fucking hell my pores look huge\u2019. This EP is turning up the contrast on everyday life\u2026 pushing PUNCHBAG\u2019s sonic world even further and dramatising the everyday more than ever before.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>That push into extremes has become their signature. Since the release of&nbsp;<strong><em>I\u2019m Not Your Punchbag<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;in May 2025, PUNCHBAG have earned serious tastemaker love \u2014 praised as&nbsp;<em>\u201cfreewheeling, cathartic rave-pop\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>NME<\/strong>,&nbsp;<em>\u201cunhinged pop that is both infectious and confrontational\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>CLASH<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<em>\u201cgloriously untamed and utterly magnetic\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>DIY<\/strong>. Elsewhere,&nbsp;<strong>Stereogum<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>PAPER<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Dork<\/strong>, <strong>Wonderland<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Brooklyn Vegan<\/strong>&nbsp;have all been quick to champion their chaotic-pop vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That same intensity spills into their live shows, where sibling chemistry and emotional overload turn gigs into something closer to group therapy \u2014 loud, sweaty, cathartic, and deeply communal.
