Tricky announces 15th studio album ‘Different When It’s Silent’ \u2014 hear new single Out Of Place<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six years is a long time. But when Tricky shows back up under his own name, you pay attention. The legendary Bristol producer and artist has just announced his 15th studio album, ‘Different When It’s Silent’<\/strong>, dropping July 17th via False Idols<\/strong> \u2014 and if the first single is any indication, this one’s going to hit hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album’s lead track, Out Of Place<\/a><\/em>, premiered on BBC Radio 6 Music courtesy of Lauren Laverne and it’s a proper closer-as-opener energy \u2014 tense, stripped, and alive with contrast. Longtime collaborator Marta brings a restrained vocal that plays beautifully against Tricky’s urgent, almost punk-like delivery. Funny enough, the track was originally written for Marta’s own album before Tricky pulled it back for this record. Good call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
