It’s been a minute since we heard new music from Editors \u2014 their last studio album, ‘EBM’, dropped back in 2022 \u2014 but the Birmingham-born post-punk veterans are back and they sound like a band with something to say. New single Call It In<\/a><\/em> is out now via Play It Again Sam, and it’s the first glimpse at where Editors are headed next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The track was born out of sessions in rural Gloucestershire over the summer of 2025, where the band got back to basics \u2014 all in a room together, working the old-fashioned way. Frontman Tom Smith, who’s been busy with his debut solo record There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn’t There In The Light<\/em>, describes Call It In<\/em> as a song about reaching out when the world gets too loud:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s a song about asking for help, really, in the presence of an existential dread, finding solace and comfort in someone close, escaping the deafening noise of modern life.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
