The Vacant Lots have announced they will begin their hypnotic sonic assault with the release of their debut LP, ‘Departure,’\u00a0<\/i><\/b>on July 1, 2014\u00a0via\u00a0Sonic Cathedral. Blending an angular interplay of guitars and electronics with geometric-laden riffs, The Vacant Lots create their unique brand of R’nR. To celebrate the release, Sonic Cathedral are sharing the video for the first single Mad Mary Jones, <\/em>which you can watch via YouTube below.<\/p>\n

The album will be available on limited-edition half-black, half-white vinyl, CD and as a digital download.<\/p>\n

‘Departure’‘s\u00a0<\/i>opener, Mad Mary Jones<\/em>, is a synthesis of adrenaline-driven guitars fueled with electronic and percussive intensity. 6 AM<\/em>\u00a0is a sensory overload strobing with frenetic hypno-monotony set against a backdrop of controlled chaos, while Make The Connection<\/em>\u00a0contrasts ritualistic tremolo drones against Native American rhythms and spoken word lingering between the pendulum of The Velvets and Lautreamont. \u00a0On\u00a0Tomorrow<\/em>,<\/b>\u00a0the band enlisted longtime friend\u00a0Dean Wareham\u00a0to add additional layers and solo on guitar while the mixing and mastering were carried out by Sonic Boom at his New Atlantis Studio in the UK.<\/p>\n
