SOAPBOX is back with a burst of bold energy—get ready for their new EP, ‘LOCK IN,’ dropping on April 25th. Alongside the EP, they’re unleashing a fiery new single, Do As Ur Told. Check it out and get swept up in the sound.

Glasgow’s own SOAPBOX has been turning heads not just with their explosive live shows but also with their unapologetic political stance. Recently featured on Spotify’s The Punk List and rocking playlists like New Music Friday, All New Punk, and Hot New Bands, the band’s sound is as vibrant as their message. Drawing inspiration from punk pioneers like The Damned and blending in the raw vibes of Soft Play, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Viagra Boys, the group sums it up perfectly: “we all have a severe praise kink so as long as people keep listening, we’re happy.”
‘LOCK IN’ is their follow-up to last year’s HAWD THAT and marks an epic milestone—coming out on the same day they headline at Glasgow School of Art with a 500-capacity show. Do As Ur Told is a powerful track that delves into the abuse of power, born from a personal industry letdown and the all-too-common struggles of being an artist in a tough business. Vocalist Tom Rowan explains, “The song reflects our experience of being strong-armed into non-beneficial situations, whether it’s at work, with a boss, or any figure of authority.”
The band’s artful imagery and provocative messages continue to spark conversations. Their recent poster campaign in Glasgow, featuring lyrics about Nazis and BDSM, quickly stirred controversy and was pulled down after a barrage of complaints from Glasgow City Council. The band’s cheeky response? “Glasgow City Council don’t believe in punching Nazis apparently.” They even had a run of posters with support from politician Jeremy Corbyn—and a surprise nod from Alt-right figure Gavin McInnes, which caught The Times’ attention.
