Introducing Vanishing Ink: A Modern Tribute to Punk Culture and Radio

Vanishing Ink

Vanishing InkAllyson McCabe (NPR, Rumpus, SF Chronicle) and Kevin Wortis (Girlie Action Media) are about to launch a project called ‘Vanishing Ink.’  It’s a podcast. It’s a fanzine. It’s a DIY culture assault. It’s two old friends, backed by a bunch of guest scribblers, navigating contemporary music culture in the wider context of their shared history.

If you subscribe to the Vanishing Ink Newsletter, each Wednesday morning beginning on May 31st you’ll receive a brief compendium of her current obsessions, musical and otherwise, reviews of everything, thinly veiled industry dirt, and even occasional prizes.

But, there’s more! Every other week you’ll also get a secret code to unlock a new episode of Vanishing Ink’s podcast. Stripped and taped together like the music fanzines we grew up with, the content is raw and edgy; a modern tribute to punk culture and radio. This show is not going out on iTunes or anywhere else in the pod-o-sphere! It’s available exclusively by subscription, and anti-viral by design.

The line-up includes Portia Sabin (Kill Rock Stars), John S. Hall (King Missile, Unusual Squirrel), Tony DuShane (NY Times Best Seller, San Francisco Chronicle) and Liz Wood (The Rumpus), plus other greats from the famous to the anonymous, bringing you the real on everything from tarot cards to speed metal dating.
