Ladyfrnd releases final EP

LADYFRND farewell EP COVER

Ladyfrnd released their ‘Farewell EP last week via Hybridity Music. Ladyfrnd is Peter Ricq, of HUMANS and Gang Signs, and the haunting yet soulful voice of Yuki Holland. “When Ladyfrnd first started, it was an excuse for me to work with my girlfriend, Yuki, at the time. I really loved her voice and her approach to music,” says Ricq. “When we were together, her being Japanese, she insisted on taking me to Tokyo, and myself being half French, I really wanted to show her Paris for her first time. Our relationship ended before we could go on this discovery.”

Accompanying the release are three teaser videos – one shot in Tokyo, one in Paris and one in Vancouver – watch the videos below.

More about Ladyfrnd? The Vancouver-based duo has come to incorporate everything from love to the changing tides of life in the ethereal and dreamlike sounds of Ladyfrnd. Sirenic and haunting, the voice of Holland is anchored by Ricq’s steady heartbeat. The two seduce listeners with their romantic union of electronic soundscapes, simple yet modernly soulful lyrics, and a touch of island luau to inspire soft swaying in the twilight hours. This will be the last EP to be released by the duo.

More about Hybridity Music? They are a Canadian independent electronic label with a diverse roster of artists ranging from HUMANS, Gang Signs, Ladyfrnd, Sabota and Thomas Cade to the alternative R&B of Michael Brock and Cafe Lanai.
