Magazine Beach, a DIY Indie/Punk band from Washington DC, have released their debut EP ‘Sick Day’ via all streaming platforms and cassette. Take a listen to the EP via Bandcamp below.

They started playing together in the summer of 2019 and have been playing shows in DC pretty much nonstop since. They met on Craigslist after their bass player posted about wanting to start a band.

They wanted ‘Sick Day’ to be a summer-y EP that came out in the middle of December. It’s a compilation of sorts containing two older and two newer songs that capture where their sound is moving in the future. The title ‘Sick Day‘ is meant to capture the intersection of nostalgia and mundane work life.

Magazine Beach is an entirely DIY effort. They shot a video for the song Trainwreck in two days with a large budget of zero dollars. Check it out via YouTube below.

This year, they’re planning on self recording an album with a ton of new material that they’ve been working on and they’ll also be hitting the road for a tour this summer.
