Medicine to reissue two classic albums

Distortion heavy, 90s shoegaze band Medicine will have their first two LPs reissued by Captured Tracks. The reissued will be 1992’s ‘Shot Forth Self Living,’ and 1993’s ‘The Buried Life’; ‘The Buried Life’ is a Culture Addicts favourite. Both albums will come in expanded 2xLP / CD formats including bonus material and rarities, with a release date tentatively scheduled for April 17.

Captured Tracks says the band’s guitarist Brad Laner is currently searching for archival material including unused material from sessions with Van Dyke Parks, who the band worked with on the Buried Life track “Live It Down”. The original release came out on Rick Rubin’s label American Recordings.

Medicine were leaders in the American wave of Shoegaze bands and combined sharp, piercing noise / distortion with pop song structuring.
