Melbourne’s Bloodhounds On My Trail announce new single ‘Over The Wall’

Bloodhound On My Trail

Bloodhound On My Trail have been at the forefront of the Melbourne and Australian shoegaze scene that has re-emerged over the past few years. Following up on their 2015 debut EP ‘Escape II,’ they’ve announced their forthcoming single Over The Wall. Take a listen via Bandcamp below.

“I was hearing songs that contained a lot of imagery in them, which were telling stories in the way that is often done in folk music, and that inspired me to write this particular track,” says Bloodhounds frontman Johnny Green.”

“‘Over The Wall’ is basically about a prisoner and him wanting to escape, whether he be dead or alive. In the song, he toys with trying his luck in the conventional break-out manner or hoping and even planning how he can die while still inside the walls of his jail. Regardless of the outcome, he will no longer be in prison and will consider it a successful escape,” explains Bloodhounds guitarist Chris Donaldson.

Set for release on September 16, Bloodhounds On My Trail will be releasing Over The Wall and their forthcoming EP via Moon Sounds Records, one of America’s most dynamic shoegaze labels and home to such bands as Dead Leaf Echo, Ceremony, The Foreign Resort, Ummagma, The Vandelles, Sounds of Sputnik, Static Daydream, A*Star, Porcupine, and Follow The Sea.

Bloodhounds are Johnny Green (guitar, vocals), Chris Donaldson (guitar), Nik Donaldson (drums) and Ché Walden (bass).

Their understanding and appreciation for the forefathers of shoegaze and noise rock has resulted in a solid following among those into blissing out to densely-drenched and atmospheric guitar tones. Recollecting Ride, The Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Chapterhouse with Velvet Underground underpinnings, Bloodhounds love to play loud enough to make your face tingle.

Since releasing their ‘Escape II’ EP via Moon Sounds (USA) and Raphalite Records (UK) in late 2015, the four-piece have received a string of praise from around the world and gone on to play live with virtually every key shoegaze band in Australia.
