“Up, Higher was one of the first tracks written for ‘Metronomy Forever,‘ then it was culled from the final selection! Which seems strange now as it’s such a jam,” says the band’s founder Joseph Mount. “It was a track we played live on our last US tour, so it’s nice to have it out there in the world now.”

Born out of the mind of Joseph Mount, Metronomy has evolved from an early 2000s teenage bedroom project into a critically-acclaimed indie electronic staple. The band’s breakout 2008 album Nights Out has been called the “soundtrack to a generation of freshers,” by NME who said it “was proof that indie, pop and electronic music could exist outside the clatterings of nu-rave.” Last year, they released their sixth studio album ‘Metronomy Forever’ to the lauding of many, including Pitchfork who said “With Mount, content to simply get in his groove, the casual approach gives rise to some of Metronomy’s best songs in years” and Paste Magazine, who said “20 years into their career, Metronomy are as strong as ever.”

Amazon Music listeners can find the track on the playlist, Control Alt Repeat. Customers can also simply ask, “Alexa play the Amazon Original by Metronomy” in the Amazon app for iOS and Android and on Alexa-enabled devices.
