Miesha & The Spanks have shared our first new single since their 2018 release ‘Girls Girls Girls’. You can listen to The Girls Are O.K. via Soundcloud below.

The single is also streaming now on Spotify…and wherever else you get your music. ‘Girls Girls Girls’ was a wild ride, which saw the band tour across Canada and overseas to the UK. It hit #1 on the national Earshot Loud charts, with singles Summer Love at #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown, and Atmosphere #7 on CBC R3-30. It also just won Rock Recording Of The Year and Single Of The Year at the YYC Music Awards! Miesha wrote The Girls Are O.K. while in her third trimester this summer, expecting twins— no idea what their gender would be. At the same time, she was scheduling this year’s Girls Rock Camp in Calgary. The whole thing got her thinking about these strong, weird, cool girls that she gets to work with every year and watch grow, and how if she ended up with two baby girls, she wouldn’t be worried about or for them at all, because the girls from camp were already light years ahead of where she was at their age. They’re so brave and they already know they don’t have to take any bullshit— something she learned much later in life.

She had this year’s Girls Rock Camp Calgary contribute backing vocals to the song, highlighting the driving force behind my inspiration.
