Nail Polish debut ‘Stay Gone’

Nail Polish

Nail Polish have shared their debut track from Illuminasty Records and first release since their debut ‘Have A Sip’ EP. Stay Gone is the sound of a band finding their creative niche and a glimpse of what’s to come. Take a listen to the track via Soundcloud below or you can download it via Illuminasty.

Falling somewhere between the half-remembered power-pop of The Replacements and the no-fucks-given Burger Records aesthetic, Nail Polish have become an increasingly tangible force on the Brooklyn scene over the last year, buoyed by their unforgettable melodies and fearless penchant for guitar solos.  The band are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut LP and are plotting their first East Coast tour, so stay tuned for more in the weeks ahead and check below for a list of upcoming shows.

Shortly after moving to New York City, guitarist/vocalist Nic Brodine met bassist Jason Rivette while defrosting a turkey in a bathtub. They began performing songs under the name Nail Polish in early 2015, rotating through drummers and the older material Nic had written while still living on the West Coast.

Nail Polish’s take on surf rock and garage borrows as much from the bratty energy of early New York City punk as it does the earnest pop of 50’s rock n’ roll. Their music plays like a piece of bubblegum you picked up off the sidewalk on your way home from a one night stand. A distinct blend of East and West Coast pop, Brodine’s intuitive, off the cuff guitar work is seamlessly buoyed by Rivette’s classically trained vocal harmonies and gritty bass styling. Shameless rock n’ roll for the deliberately disinterested, Nail Polish is a band determined to make the most of two and a half minutes.
