New release: The Zolas / The Liptonians Split 7”

The Zolas Marshall Angus

The Zolas debut release ‘Tic Toc Tic’ garnered critical acclaim but also translated into success on the road and radio. This run of momentum for Tic Toc Tic was capped off with award nominations (Verge XM – Album of Year 2011), numerous “best of” lists (including #21 on the Exclaim! year end album list) and a spot opening for Weezer this past Summer at Virgin Mobile Presents: Live At Squamish.

The Zolas are currently working on a new album to be releases in 2012, but in the interim they are have released a new song Cultured Man, which appears on The Zolas / The Liptonians split 7”. It is very reminiscent of the ‘Is This It’ era Strokes – which is a very good thing. The flip-side has their friends The Liptonians performing Destroy, Destroy, Destroy. The bands will be touring Western Canada in October in honour of the new 7″. Tours kicks off tomorrow (October 13) in The Liptonians’ hometown of Winnipeg and closes in Vancouver on the October 24th.

The Zolas / The Liptonians Split 7” from Light Organ Records is available in vinyl and on iTunes on October 11th.
