If you still have any energy from the past few nights, there’s more live music in the city. Here’s our picks for NXNE 2015 Day 4 (June 20).

Animalia 8 pm @ The Painted Lady
Animalia is a solo electronic artist based in Toronto. Her music sways with the use of thumping beats and astral synths. A quirky voice belts out melancholic melodies, while she takes the stage in an aggressively energetic performance.

Cell Memory 9 pm @ The Smiling Buddha
Adam Terejko is a Toronto-based musician, visual artist, and videographer. He performs under the name Cell Memory – an outfit that takes on many different forms with rotating players. Sometimes it’s a three-piece dream pop band and other times it’s a solo experimental noise act.

Programm 10 pm @ Adelaide Hall
For Programm, it’s been a slow build towards their debut album. Getting there meant discovering how to make music that they wanted to make, instead of music confined to genre conventions or outward expectations. The band collected influences from all over the spectrum, with stops in drone, electronic minimalism, and eastern progressions, refining each sonic detail and enabling each others’ intense perfectionism in the process.

Girl Band 11 pm @ The Drake Underground
Girl Band is a four-piece noise rock outfit out of Dublin. Forming in late 2011 and taking their influence from groups and genres such as Bad Brains, James Chance and the Contortions, Neu, and minimal techno, they’ve since built a reputation for loud, intense, and energetic live shows. Recently signing to Rough Trade, the band is currently at work on their debut album (tentatively expected out this October.)

Cold Cave 12 am @ Adelaide Hall
Philly electro-pop act drawing great reviews: “The songs are danceable, dark, instantly infectious. Think ’80s industrial and synth pop over-driven through power electronics.” – Stereogum

or….

Mission To Burma 12 am @ Lee’s Palace
The Boston-based Mission of Burma was founded in 1979 and was originally together for just four short but prolific years, putting out only studio album in that length of time with 1982’s ‘Vs.’ They reformed in 2002 for a handful of shows.
