Down And Outlaws promo shotSan Francisco based rock and roll band Down And Outlaws have premiered their new track Obsession. The track is featured on the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Above Snakes,’ which is due out on July 8th via A Diamond Heart Production. You can pre-order the record at iTunes and on vinyl LP @ bit.ly/28LnKVQ. Take a listen to Obsession via Soundcloud below.
“For me, ‘Obsession’ is about being stuck on just one thing,” says lead vocalist Peter Danzig. “The song feels like a moving current that’s flowing one way even though you want to swim the other way.”
Down and Outlaws is a four-piece rock band comprised of Peter Danzig, Kyle Luck, Chris Danzig and Jon Carr that formed in 2012 in San Francisco. The band crafts dirty, blues driven rock that’s influenced by acts like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Stooges and Dead Weather among others.
On the band’s latest effort, Down And Outlaws showcase their keen sensibility for songwriting and knack for creating some of the most rollicking rock songs in current music. Tracks like Obsession, Way She Rolls and Fever exude a classic style of rock swagger while maintaining a contemporary edge.
“Above Snakes is the solid foundation our band has been building for quite some time,” Danzig adds. “The sound is cracked and rough around the edges, but that’s how we like it. And damn if it doesn’t sound good loud.”
Down And Outlaws will be performing an album release show in their hometown of San Francisco at Great American Music Hall on July 8th.
