After the release of their debut album ‘Dark Synthetics‘ in September, Asheville’s dark post-punk/deathrock band Secret Shame has announced they’ll be trickling a new series of remixes of tracks lifted from the album. They’ll also go back into the studio to record new music for release in early 2020.

The first reworking they’re sharing is XOR’s ethereal coldwave remix of Calm. You can take a listen to the remix via YouTube below.

Dark Synthetics’ was released to critical acclaim worldwide, and established Secret Shame as a dark sonic force to be reckoned with. Drawing fitting comparisons to The Cure and early Siouxsie while simultaneously carving out a sound distinctly their own, their songwriting combines the best elements of post-punk, deathrock and goth that harkens back to the golden age of 4AD. Secret Shame’s frontwoman Lena’s harrowing vocals cut through dark atmospheres created by the band’s massive, reverb-laden sound, building to both cathartic and compelling lyrical moments. The band create a safe space for you to get lost in – it’s a gothic punk sound not just to revel in, but to think critically through… something only carefully crafted music can do.
