Radkey release new claymation video

It took ten weeks of intense work for the London-based production company Blinkink to complete Radkey’’s incredible new claymation video for their single “Glore”. The video was directed by Nicos Livesey for U.K. Channel 4’’s revamped series Random Acts, which will be coming out soon.

In the space of just over two minutes, the viewer is taken on a psychedelic, mind-bending, breakneck claymation trip through the morphing world of what Radkey love and hate. The video utilizes a variety of claymation techniques heavily influenced by pioneers such a Bruce Bickford and David Daniels. Think Celebrity Death Match meets Jackass meets Beavis and Butthead meets skateboarding, fun-loving kids who don’t give a f**k and you’’ve got “Glore”. Watch the video via YouTube below.

The production process started with Livesey carefully thinking about social normalcy, copyright and morality and then throwing it all out the window and starting his animatic. With “claysploitation artist” Lee Hardcastle on board and working as an animation tag team, they started some of the simpler shots until the need to fit more into a day drove them to setting up a second shooting bay, shortly followed by a third and three more animators by week eight. Meanwhile, interns came in and out of the workshop staying anywhere from three days to seven weeks.
