Schaus is a nostalgic comedy of errors. As the sole writer, his compositions begin in a challenging manner often defying themselves, slipping into a danceable groove and indulging in saccharine ear worms. With one foot in electronic music, a penchant for r&b jams, polyrhythmic melodies, and pop music, his music is the buoyant beat to overcome the emotional weight of modern living.
A multi-disciplinary artist, Schaus also creates unique visual pieces to coincide with his angular pop music. His live set is the synthesis of the uncanny valley, Tim & Eric’s television show, and a heartfelt karaoke song for a lover. Their shows keep growing after opening for John Maus, Wild Ones, and taking a prime spot at the PDX Pop Now festival.
Schaus released his debut album, ‘Handshake,’ through UK record label Them There Records in 2016. ‘Quite Okay,‘ a follow-up EP, was self-released in the summer of 2018. Forthcoming album, ‘Grinding,’ will be released early 2020 via Bug Hunt Records.
