The ‘She-Devils EP’ is out now – can stream it via CBC & Consequence of Sound. The band have been on the road for the last few days with Majical Cloudz to present their self-titled debut and they have now shared their second self-directed music video, Where There’s No One. Filmed on a cold night in Montreal and co-directed by their tour mate Devon Welsh, the video features She-Devils’ Audrey Ann delivering an other worldly and emotional performance of Where There’s No One akin to the performances of Edith Piaf and Dalida. Watch it via YouTube below.
The band explained, ”The song is about the vulnerability of showing your weaknesses to someone you care about and feeling rejected because it isn’t received with compassion. It was cathartic to take this sense of my own repulsiveness and transform it into something beautiful. To me of course beauty and ugliness are intertwined when it comes to emotions. I tried to say a lot without using many words as to not make it overbearing and to leave it open to interpretation.”
