OUT 6TH FEBRUARY VIA ALCOPOP! RECORDS (ROW) & GRAND HOTEL VAN CLEEF (GER)
Brighton’s gritty alt-rock duo Snake Eyes are kicking off 2025 with a high-voltage new single, Hug Me, out now via Alcopop! Records and Grand Hotel Van Cleef. Featuring guest vocals from Erik Heise of German punk heavyweights Pabst, the track delivers a raw, cathartic blast of guitar-driven energy, balancing ferocity with heartfelt emotion.
Following a powerhouse 2024, which saw them tearing up festival stages and raising funds for climate action with their charity single Hottest Day on Record, Snake Eyes are gearing up for a massive year ahead. With extensive UK/EU tour dates alongside You Me At Six, Dune Rats, and Kid Kapichi, the band shows no signs of slowing down.
A Song of Recovery, Love & Resilience
Frontman Jim Heffy describes Hug Me as deeply personal: “In late 2023, I was signed off work with an anxiety disorder. It was one of the darkest times of my life. The medication made things worse before they got better—I could barely leave the house, lost my job, and felt like my mind and body were at odds. Writing this song helped me process what was happening.”
“Hug Me is about recovery, love, and empathy. Even now, I still have bad days, but I want this song to send out some positive energy. If you struggle with anxiety or depression, we got you.”
An Iconic Video with a Twist
The official music video, directed and filmed by the band, takes a playful jab at The Verve’s legendary Bitter Sweet Symphony visuals. Drummer Thomas Coe-Brooker explains: “I always loved that video and thought it’d be fun to flip it—this time, Jim tries to spread love to passersby, but they completely ignore him! There are loads of shot-for-shot nods to the original, see if you can spot them.”
Bigger, Louder, Stronger
2024 was a breakout year for Snake Eyes, with sold-out headline shows, festival appearances at Truck, 2000 Trees, Down The Rabbit Hole, Left of the Dial, and tours with October Drift, The Meffs, and Kettcar. They also announced a new live lineup as a duo following the departure of bassist Sophie Douglas.
With their biggest tour yet and more new music on the way, 2025 is set to be their boldest chapter yet.
