Founded in 2005 by husband and wife Mario Fiorucci and Tara Longo, Ontario’s beloved butcher shop, The Healthy Butcher is the ultimate destination for the finest Grassfed and Organic meat, Ocean Wise approved fish, Organic produce and so much more. With three locations across Ontario and its sister company RealFoodToronto.com (an online grocery and delivery service), The Healthy Butcher is making it easier than ever to shop for real food. Offering unique in-store classes and Express Gourmet – a full line of gourmet foods prepared with pure organic ingredients – The Healthy Butcher’s mission is to ensure food is produced the way nature intended.

“In 2005 my wife Tara and I decided to open The Healthy Butcher to bring better food to Torontonians with an unparalleled level of transparency. We believe that the healthiest food is the best tasting food and wanted to provide fellow shoppers with locally sourced meat direct from farmers,” said Mario Fiorucci, co-founder, The Healthy Butcher. “The Healthy Butcher stands apart because we tell our customers exactly where their food is from, as well as how it was raised in an effort to help our clients eat better and feel better.”

The Healthy Butcher will now offer an online grocery store and delivery service at RealFoodToronto.com. The site allows consumers to shop over 5,000 products (online, by phone, or in-store), learn cooking techniques, search recipes and more. The goal of RealFoodToronto.com is to make the sourcing of real food, really easy and to create a food retail experience that is holistic and not simply a grocery delivery service. RealFoodToronto.com receives its meat and produce from over 75 farms, and top quality groceries are always guaranteed. RealFoodToronto.com also offers educational videos, tried and true tips, as well as personal shoppers.

Sous Vide
Looking to expand your culinary horizons? For the first time ever, The Healthy Butcher co-owner Mario Fiorucci and Cedarlane Culinary’s Dustin Skeoch, will host a Sous Vide class. Sous Vide is a culinary technique in which vacuum-sealed food is immersed in a water bath and cooked at a very precise, consistent temperature. The precise temperature control allows cooking food to perfection, while the forgiving nature of this cooking method also eliminates concerns about overcooking and produces extraordinary results. The next class takes place on Tues. Nov.18, from 8 pm to 9:30 pm at 298 Eglinton Ave., W. Classes cost $40 per session.

The Art of the Roast
Looking to become the perfect dinner party host? Try The Healthy Butcher’s The Art of the Roast class.
