More on The Most Serene Republic? The Most Serene Republic emerged in 2005, still holding on to their teens, capturing all the wide-eyed wonder of youth with their debut album, Underwater Cinematographer, released on Arts & Crafts. Three full-length albums, two EPs, multiple tours across North America and Europe supporting The Strokes, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Stars, a great deal of glowing press, and devoted followers were accrued. It has been a half-decade since The Most Serene Republic has released new material. While merely a blip in terms of the universe, it can seem like a lifetime between when an elongated adolescence through the vehicle of artistry is left behind and adulthood is embraced. And so it is, that these six best of friends returned to making music through a very different lens, yet somehow managing to still capture all the impossibly beautiful things and the essence of what made their universe so special.
