New album ‘Blindness’out February 21, 2025

The Murder Capital have returned with The Fall, their first release of 2025 and the latest offering from their highly anticipated third album, ‘Blindness,’ arriving February 21. Following recent singles Can’t Pretend To KnowWords Lost Meaning, and Love Of Country, the new track delivers a potent mix of searing guitars, unrelenting crescendos, and raw emotional intensity—a true reflection of the band’s evolving sound.

Listen to The Fall here

Frontman James McGovern describes the track as a moment of reckoning: “I can’t be told, I can’t be dressed, I can’t be held, I can’t be fed, I can’t be whipped. The Fall is coming. The Fall is inevitable. The Fall is one finger over the self-destruct button, while the other holds its pose in meditation.”

Building Toward ‘Blindness’

The Murder Capital’s upcoming album, ‘Blindness,’ is a vividly realized and fiercely ambitious record—one that captures both the urgency of the present and the restlessness of a band pushing forward.

Written in the aftermath of relentless touring, ‘Blindness’ came to life over three intense weeks in Los Angeles with Grammy-winning producer John Congleton, who also worked on the band’s previous record, ‘Gigi’s Recovery’. Sessions were fast-paced, prioritizing spontaneity over perfection.

“He wanted us to phone-record everything first—no layering, no overthinking,”McGovern explains. “By the time we got to the studio, no song was suffocated by what it needed to be. It was about what it could be.”

The result is eleven tracks that waste no time grabbing the listener, packed with bristling energy and unfiltered emotion.

“Love Of Country” & Its Impact

Last month, The Murder Capital dropped Love Of Country as a limited 7” and digital release through their website and Bandcamp, with all profits going to Medical Aid for Palestinians. This surprise release showcased the band’s continued commitment to using music as a force for something bigger—and set the tone for what’s to come on ‘Blindness’.
