The Muscadettes Side B coverThe Muscadettes announced ‘Side B’ with the arrival of its first single, Earthquake, via Consequence of Sound, who called this collection The Muscadettes’ “moodier side”, before releasing Stray Cats via BrooklynVegan… “one of the band’s dreamier songs,” to preview their four New York City performances during the CMJ Music Marathon, before hitting the Halifax Pop Explosion.

Pre-order ‘Side B’ here.

‘Side A’ featured two singles, I’m In Love, which was featured in T-Mobile’s Valentine’s ad campaign, and named “Song of the Day” by The Line Of Best Fit, who called it, “quite literally sunshine and fresh air wafting from the speakers.” Pearl & Oyster arrived via Consequence of Sound, who said, “[The Muscadettes] laser in on its grooves with the sort of precision that probably only comes from musicians who used to share a zygote,” and was picked up by SPIN for their weekly Mix Tape.

Chantal and Kathleen Ambridge were born in Silicon Valley but raised in Montreal, and that dichotomy comes through in their music, influenced by ’60s surf and ’90s grunge, creating an energetic rock, balanced out by sugary vocal harmonies only sisters could deliver. The Ambridge sisters, joined by Joe Gagné (Les Breastfeeders) and Thomas Augustin (Malajube) recorded both ‘Side A’ + ‘Side B’ with Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube) at Montreal’s Breakglass Studio, and was mixed in Los Angeles with Lewis Pesacov (Best Coast/Fidlar).

Tour dates:
11/13 – Toronto, ON @ The Great Hall (Long Winter Festival)
11/14 – Montreal, PQ @ Bar Le Ritz PDB (EP release show)
