The Null Club—the brainchild of Gilla Band’s Alan Duggan-Borges—is back with a powerful new single, Frameshift, featuring Brooklyn-based rapper E L U C I D. This follows the buzz from last month’s debut track Slip Angle featuring Mandy, Indiana’s Valentine Caulfield, which earned praise from Pitchfork, DORK, BBC 6 Music, The Guardian, The Needle Drop, The Line Of Best Fit, Stereogum, NME, Hot Press, and more.
A Sound That Defies Boundaries
Alan has spent years crafting his sonic world—melding noise, techno, experimental hip-hop, and post-punk—using an arsenal of vintage synths, drum machines, and guitars. Now, he’s set to release his self-titled debut EP on 4th April, which will feature collaborations with E L U C I D, Valentine Caulfield, and The Horrors’ Faris Badwan.
How Frameshift Came to Life
Alan and E L U C I D first crossed paths when Alan produced ‘RFID’ for ELUCID’s album Revelator. Reflecting on ‘Frameshift,’ Alan shares:
A DIY Ethos & Limitless Creative Freedom
This project has been a deeply personal journey for Alan—learning production, exploring new genres, and collaborating with artists he truly admires. Everything has been crafted independently, right down to the limited run of 500 hand-stamped 12” white label records, released through a label run by Alan and his wife. The EP was mixed by Daniel Fox (Gilla Band) and mastered by Jamie Hyland (M(h)aol).
