Brooklyn’s Dead Leaf Echo has premiered the title-track to their upcoming EP, Strawberry Skin. The EP is the follow up to their 2016 ‘Lemonade’ 7″ single will arrive March 31 via their new label PaperCup Music. The shoegaze/psych-rock music/art collective will head to Texas for this year’s SXSW Music Conference, along with dates in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio to preview the record, along with new material destined for their sophomore album, due later in 2017. Dead Leaf Echo has once again worked with Monte Vallier (Weekend/Wax Idols) on their new material, with contributions from Guy Fixsen (My Bloody Valentine/Wire) and Jorge Elbreht (Ariel Pink/No Joy), recorded at Mexican Summer’s studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Called “Some of the best live music in New York City,” by Time Out New York, Dead Leaf Echo toured relentlessly in support of their 2013 debut album, ‘Thought and Language,’ and 2014 EP, ‘true.deep.sleeper,’ supporting artists such as Psychedelic Furs, Swervedriver, The Wedding Present, A Place to Bury Strangers, Trail Of the Dead, Weekend, Lorelei, The Ocean Blue, The Warlocks, Beach Fossils, Chapterhouse, Ulrich Schnauss and the Telescopes. In support of Lemonade, last fall, the band performed at the Desert Stars Festival in Joshua Tree, along with a cross-country tour back east.
They have constantly hit the CMJ Top 20, played twice live on KEXP’s “John Richards in the Morning” show, were featured as a “Song of the Day”, and have been regularly featured on Nic Harcourt’s Morning Becomes Electric on KCSN.
Dead Leaf Echo will head to Europe post SXSW with a New York City celebration of ‘Strawberry Skin’ in the works.
