The microtonal cardboard duo is back with a new record and a world domination itinerary to match.
If you haven’t fallen down the Angine de Poitrine rabbit hole yet, buckle up — because this week just handed you the perfect excuse. The anonymous microtonal duo dropped their sophomore record, ‘Vol. II’, today, and to celebrate, they’ve announced a sweeping UK and European headline tour for October, capped off with their biggest London show yet at The Troxy. Tickets for the newly announced dates go on sale now.
For the uninitiated: Angine de Poitrine is Khn de Poitrine (microtonal guitars, vocals) and Klek de Poitrine (percussion, vocals) — a self-described “Mantra-Rock Dada Pythagorean-Cubist Orchestra” who build entire sonic universes out of cardboard, double-necked guitars, and hypnotic drum grooves. Their Live on KEXP session has racked up over 6.2 million views and counting, and The Guardian called them out for their “hypnotic riffs and grooves, whose proggy time shifts are all in astonishing lockstep.” Party music for the prog-brained. We’re in.
‘Vol. II’ — What to Expect
‘Vol. II’ pushes the duo’s sound into even bolder, more dynamic territory. It’s described as a brisk, high-voltage record — six tracks of asymmetrical, dissonant bliss that add and strip away sound patterns in constant metamorphosis. Lead single Fabienk is already picking up serious love at BBC 6 Music, doing exactly what you’d expect from these two: a single microtonal guitar loop that doubles, evolves, and refuses to let your body stay still.

Tracklist:
- Fabienk
- Mata Zyklek
- Sarniezz
- UTZP
- Yor Zarad
- Angor
