Las Robertas share sun-soaked video for ‘All We Need Is Now’

San José, Costa Rica’s own psych-pop dream team Las Robertas are easing us into summer right with the title track video off their LP, ‘All We Need Is Now,’ out via Kanine Records (Spinda Records handling things in Spain). The album’s first single, Everything I Wanted To Be, already gave us a taste — now the title cut gets the visual treatment.

The video comes courtesy of Madrid-based director Juan Alvarez Santos (aka Arma Blancx), who shot, produced, and directed the whole thing as a love letter to grainy, handheld ’90s camcorder footage. There’s also a sly wink to the band’s favorite Rolling Stones record, The Satanic Majesties Request — fitting, given the psychedelic haze this whole project lives in.

This is Las Robertas’ first new full-length in three years, and it sounds like time well spent — ‘All We Need Is Now’ is a hazy, golden-hour ode to home, splitting the difference between ’60s psych and ’90s shoegaze/alt-rock. Think The Brian Jonestown Massacre meeting Lush, Ride, and Chapterhouse (the latter of whom the band actually shared a stage with earlier this year). Across nine tracks, the record digs into fear, presence, and the slow work of personal and spiritual growth — heady stuff, wrapped in gorgeous, reverb-soaked melodies.

Las Robertas have already logged serious miles — Coachella, Levitation, Primavera Sound, NRMAL — and they’ll be back on the road across Europe and Latin America later this year in support of the new album.
