After seven years spent largely behind the boards for other artists, Chrome Sparks — the project of producer and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Malvin — is stepping back into the spotlight. His new single Sleeper, featuring Khalid and Jónsi of Sigur Rós, is the first taste of his forthcoming album ‘Ball of Light’, out September 11th via Chrome Sounds / AWAL.

Sleeper is a sweeping, immersive collaboration — three distinct voices meeting inside Malvin’s signature ethereal production, setting the emotional tone for the album to come.

“Over the last seven years, I’ve focused mostly on collaborations and other artists’ projects,” shares Malvin. “‘Ball of Light’ is me finding myself again.”

A Decade of Building Worlds

Chrome Sparks has spent the past ten years carving out one of electronic music’s most distinctive lanes, moving fluidly between electronic production, ambient composition, and emotionally driven songwriting. Since breaking through with the now-classic Marijuana, Malvin has balanced intricate production with rich melody across his 2018 self-titled debut and the projects ‘Goddess’ (2014) and ‘Be on Fire’ (2019).

‘Ball of Light’ is his most expansive and personal work yet — a creative reset that builds cinematic worlds out of glowing synths and deeply felt melodies, finding Malvin reconnecting with what drew him to music in the first place.

Behind the Scenes, in Front of the Curtain

The announcement follows a run of high-profile production work: contributions to Slayyyter’s “Unknown Loverz” (from 2026’s ‘WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA’), Lily Allen’s ‘West End Girl’ (No. 2 UK Albums Chart, BRIT Award nomination), Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s “Sunset Blvd” (from ‘I Said I Love You First’, No. 2 Billboard 200), and Mallrat’s ARIA Platinum single “My Darling, My Angel.” His work has drawn praise from The New York Times, Billboard, NPR, Pitchfork, and The FADER.

With Sleeper and ‘Ball of Light’, Chrome Sparks steps back to the forefront — turning years of collaboration and exploration into his most personal statement yet.
