Some songs are about holding on. Orbiting, the new single from Boise’s Porcelain Tongue, is about knowing when to let go — and accepting that sometimes the kindest thing you can do is release someone from your orbit entirely.
Built on doubled guitars and glitched-out, almost-synth textures, “Orbiting” drifts through the space between togetherness and goodbye. It’s the last advance single from the band’s upcoming full-length, ‘Don’t Obscure The Sun’, out September 10th, 2026 as a co-release between Mishap Records and Moon Ruins Records.

About the Album
Introspective post-rock outfit Porcelain Tongue will release ‘Don’t Obscure The Sun’ on September 10th, 2026, and this time they’re looking forward as much as they’re looking back. The follow-up to their debut ‘Goodbye Peggy’ finds the band still sitting with grief, mourning, and loss — but songwriter Max Voulelis’s lyrics carry a rosier, more hopeful edge this time around.
The record rides the line between anthemic and riff-driven heaviness, bouncing between yesterday and tomorrow from front to back. Voulelis writes of people making up shapes, taking up light, and leaving somewhere he can’t follow. ‘Don’t Obscure The Sun’ is more proof that Porcelain Tongue is one of Boise’s most exciting bands going right now — and even when the record’s themes sit in life’s bitter trials, the songs never lose sight of the light in the dark.

“…crawling, heart-wrenching, emo-tinged indie rock…” — BuffaBLOG
“Porcelain Tongue are bringing something fresh and interesting to the rock and punk scene. What they are also bringing is raw honesty in their lyrics and a complex instrumental soundscape that perfectly emotes difficult themes.” — York Calling
