Canadian Music Week has announced another round of artists set to play Canada’s biggest new music and discovery festival including Hip-hop recording artist, producer and Odd Future alumni Earl Sweatshirt, seminal Canadian indie-rockers Wolf Parade, Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, pop-punk twinsies Good Chalotte, rapper/producer/actor Hopsin, synth-pop singer songwriter Allie X, Philadelphia indie-darlings Japanese Breakfast, and Ought frontman Tim Darcy. Other than Wolf Parade these artists didn’t turn our crank, but CMW also announced some of the best of the Toronto indie scene including Frigs, Beliefs, Casper Skulls, Vallens, and Twist plus many more Toronto artists confirmed to perform. They had already announced Greys were playing the fest and Sebadoh was announced during this round of additions. Things are filling out nicely for this year.
“CMW is a unique event, as Toronto’s longest running multi-venue discovery festival, it’s always been about looking through the lineup and finding your new favourite artist, or finally seeing them play live for the first time. The festival speaks to music fans who enjoy an eclectic mix of genres over a compressed few days of venue hopping, excited to experience some incredible live entertainment.” – Dave Henry, Artist Relations Manager
Please see the below list of new additions to the festival and stay tuned for further updates. CMW 2017 is set to take place April 18 – 23 at over thirty official CMW venues across downtown Toronto.
