Salisbury punk rockers CARSICK have shared their newest single Anaconda Frank. Following their recent signing with Alcopop! Records, the band are also set to release their forthcoming debut EP ‘Drunk Hymns’ on June 30th, 2023. Alongside the new single, the quartet have also announced an extensive string of Sep/Oct 2023 UK headline tour dates, which are on sale now, with the band also set to appear at this year’s TRUCK Festival, 2000 Trees, Left of The Dial and Leopallooza festival (see below for listings). The new song is CARSICK’s anthemic appeal to make something of your life—over blistering drums and haywire guitars, they declare: “if you don’t do something, then you won’t get nothing!”

“Anaconda Frank is our biggest rager yet,” the band said of the song. “We wanted to capture the chaotic energy of our lives right now and so we’ve drawn on a bunch of real experiences we’ve had recently – covering everything from addiction to giant exotic snakes. It’s about being in a transitional stage of your life and figuring out what exactly it is you want to do and the kind of person you want to be.” Listen to Anaconda Frank via YouTube below or check it out here.

The band’s four standalone singles to date — Is What It Is, Muzzle, Local Legend and Runner — have been championed by James Threlfall at BBC Introducing In the West and subsequently played on BBC R1 by Gemma Bradley and BBC Radio 6 Music by both Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson, with Muzzle also taking over Introducing stations across the country after being selected by Gemma Bradley as a pick of the week. Further new music will be announced over the coming months.

More about CARSICK

A band formed over pints in a small English pub in late 2021, CARSICK take influence from a range of different artists and genres—from indie rock to post-punk to hip-hop with electronic elements—but their tongue-in-cheek lyrical approach directly tackles the trials and tribulations of life as a young adult, and especially the drinking culture which dominates the band’s demographic.

Their energetic and unpredictable live shows match that theme: this is music about living for the weekend; about the desperate chaos of small-town nightlife and about forgetting what happened last night.

More than anything, CARSICK have rapidly made a name for themselves through their rowdy live performances. Since their debut show at Southampton’s Joiners in November 2021, they have supported artists like Knuckle Puck, Salem, NOISY, Enola Gay, Narrow Head, and Beach Riot across the South of England. Their hometown gigs in Salisbury are the stuff of local legend, including a sold-out show at the 300-cap Chapel supported by borts and Binboy (ex-Gnarwolves).

In April 2022, the band caught the attention of the Marshall Live Agency, and were quickly signed to their growing roster of the country’s most exciting young bands. In July 2022, they played two sets at Oxford’s Truck Festival, opening both the Main Stage on the Thursday and the Market Stage on the Friday.
