Tour with Cap’n Jazz announced
Listen Now: Soap – Available on all streaming platforms.
Coffin Prick returns with Soap, the latest single from the upcoming album ‘Loose Enchantment,’ out May 16 on Temporal Drift. Pre-orders are live now. This summer, Coffin Prick joins Cap’n Jazz on select tour dates—full schedule below.
The Story Behind Soap
“This tune started as a skeleton of a song years ago before it took the form you hear today. It’s been turned inside out, transformed from an instrumental into a tightly wound vocal piece—full of secrets held in broken hands. Featuring the first-ever use of acoustic drumming on a Coffin Prick track (courtesy of CP live-band drummer Alejandro Salazar-Dyer), Soap is an ode to the strange paradox of vanishing and being discovered at the same time. A way of scrubbing the record clean. Keeping clean isn’t just a metaphor—it’s a necessity. Also, fun fact: this track features the only guitar solo on the entire album. Yes, really.”
‘Loose Enchantment’ – A Soundtrack for a Disenchanted World
A collection of eleven tracks recorded entirely in Coffin Prick’s Los Angeles home studio, ‘Loose Enchantment’ is a reflection of the modern world’s contradictions—its chaos and its beauty. This album moves through moods of confusion, longing, and revelation, capturing the absurdity and allure of existence.
Though largely a solo endeavor, Coffin Prick enlists a constellation of musical collaborators, including Steven Brown (Tuxedomoon), Alejandro Salazar-Dyer (Rincs), Kathy Lea (Soft Location), John Herndon (Tortoise), and Aaron Fernandez Olson (LA Takedown). Together, they shape a sound that is at once futuristic and nostalgic, embracing both technological precision and raw imperfection.
Following 2023’s ‘Laughing’ (Sophomore Lounge), Coffin Prick has been on a creative tear, forming a full live band and diving deeper into the recording process. ‘Loose Enchantment’ sees him refining his craft—capturing sounds with greater clarity, while still finding beauty in the cracks. Thematically, the album wrestles with self-delusion, the mysteries of creativity, the weight of secrecy, and the pursuit of something pure.
A little ‘Loose Enchantment’ for everyone.

About Coffin Prick
Coffin Prick is a Los Angeles-based musician whose work straddles the line between the meticulously crafted and the beautifully broken. A former member of Cavity and The Cairo Gang, he crafts music that is both deeply personal and evocative of alternate futures. With a rotating cast of collaborators and an ever-evolving sonic palette, Coffin Prick is less a solo act and more an unfolding idea—one that remains both defined and unknowable.
