Heads up, post-punk disciples: Death Cult is making a move. For the first time in decades, the legendary band that paved the way for The Cult is stepping back into the spotlight for two intimate U.S. club shows this month—and yes, this is a big deal.

The dates are:
May 14 – The Regency Ballroom, San Francisco
May 16 – El Rey Theatre, Los Angeles
May 17 – Cruel World Festival, Pasadena
These shows are the only club gigs in the U.S. and the first time Death Cult’s been stateside since… basically forever. If you know, you know: this is one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments.
Formed in the shadowy afterglow of Southern Death Cult, Death Cult emerged in 1983 with just enough time to drop a pair of raw, magnetic 12-inches that fused punk ferocity with a gothic edge. Those early tracks—later stitched together into one of the most coveted cult-classic CDs—were a sonic bridge to what would become The Cult’s arena-filling sound.
By 1984, Death Cult had morphed into The Cult, launching their debut Dreamtime and setting off on a career that would span 11 albums, gold and platinum plaques, and generations of devoted fans. But before all that—there was this. Death Cult. Untamed. Undiluted. Essential.
This isn’t just nostalgia. It’s a rare chance to experience that early fire, live and up close. Tickets are on sale now and they won’t last:
