Lead Single + Tour Dates Incoming
Texas quartet Die Spitz are ready to set the world ablaze. Their debut album ‘Something to Consume’ drops September 12 via Third Man Records, and it’s not just an album—it’s a full-frontal sonic reckoning with all the chaos, craving, and collective catharsis of modern life. Explosive, genre-scrambling, and fully loaded with guts and fire, this one’s gonna leave a mark.
Today, they share the album’s lead single Throw Yourself to the Sword, a furious anthem paired with a high-octane video directed by Emily Sanchez. “It’s the raise of optimism,” says vocalist/guitarist Ellie Livingston. “Even in hopelessness, you can rise up and fight the unknown—as long as you’re willing to throw yourself to it.”
Rooted in punk’s riotous spirit and bursting with hardcore’s bite, grunge melancholy, alt-rock swagger, and a touch of metal menace, ‘Something to Consume’ hits with both brain and brawn. It’s as much about confronting political systems as it is about love, addiction, and the myriad ways we let ourselves be consumed.
The Austin-based band—Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Ellie Livingston, and Kate Halter—formed in 2022 with nothing more than friendship, fire, and a healthy dose of Mötley Crüe-fueled inspiration. With no formal training and a DIY attitude (Halter learned bass just to start the band), they quickly evolved into a tight, fearsome live unit, now known for chaotic, anything-goes shows—cartwheels, rafters, solos mid-crowdsurf…you name it, they’ll probably do it.
The album’s shapeshifting spirit owes a lot to the band’s instrument-swapping, co-writing dynamic and the sharp production touch of Will Yip (Turnstile, Mannequin Pussy). There’s no hierarchy here—just raw synergy, deep trust, and the kind of bond that only forms when you’ve known each other since preschool.
Tracks like the frenetic Pop Punk Anthem and visceral American Porn dive deep into obsession, power, and identity, while others like RIDING WITH MY GIRLS and Down on It show off their range and emotional depth. Across 11 tracks, Something to Consume is a feast of sound, spirit, and unfiltered feeling.
Die Spitz are currently making their UK and European live debut, having already sold out shows in London, Berlin, and Cologne. They’re heading to 2000 Trees Festival and beyond, then returning stateside this fall for a headline tour behind the new record. From Austin to Amsterdam, this is a band that’s already making serious noise—and not looking back.
Catch them live and consume the chaos.
