Helsinki’s unstoppable Drug Store Raid has just released their debut album, ‘Background Music for Family Arguments,’ on November 15th. This album delivers a post-punk soundtrack for the disconnected, capturing themes of self-identity, societal pressures, and dark humor with their signature energy.
The album features the track Gutter. This intense track dives into themes of “God, violence, water parks, sharks, and bleach.” As the band says, “This is no post-punk jolly happy tune, this is death! End is here, so you gotta get away!”
The album ‘Background Music for Family Arguments’ is a 35-minute, 12-track collection that combines post-punk, noise, indie-dance, jazz-funk, and no-wave. From the absurd to the introspective, Drug Store Raid uses humour, irony, and rebellion to explore life’s pressures with a sound that’s both raw and infectious.
