Endless City announce 20-day multi-arts celebration + gallery takeover

Endless City

Endless City has announced a 20-day multi-arts celebration + gallery takeover running from January 20 until February 26, 2016 located in the heart of Little Portugal at 1161 Dundas St W/ Ossington in Toronto. Endless City is a multidisciplinary experiment led by a group of Toronto designers, curators and programmers exploring innovation in art, design and technology through performance, discussion and installation.   

Endless City CU BannerEndless City [Vol 1] will present an exciting cross-section of programming including a design installation as part of Toronto Design Offsite Festival by Toronto design renegades Castor Design (featuring copper lighting and accessories, electro-formed in studio using a battery, conductive paint and copper stripping), live music performances by local art ensemble Fresh Snow, robotic futurists Matrox and progressive sound wizard Nailbiter, and an intimate gallery dinner with Parts & Labour Chef / Vice Munchies TV host Matty Matheson playing on Castor Design’s copper theme by serving metallic painted food.  

During the gallery takeover, Endless City [Vol 1] will also play host to a highly curated run of music nights by local trailblazer promoters Invocation, Casual Drones 15 and local label Hand Drawn Dracula featuring performances by Jay Holy, Mystic Triangle, Bodies That Matter, Brigette Bardon’t, Ceramic TL (David Psutka aka Egyptrixx), Khobra, Hexzuul, Andrew Roy, Blue Light with visual treatments by Facade Montage + Philip Baljeu. 

Also confirmed are a series of forward-thinking panel talks, demos and public discussions. Topics will include a music discussion around presenting highly experiential events in Toronto, a design talk with Toronto designers and architects on the state of design infrastructure and support for it in Canada, a show and tell demo with leading artists exploring experimental techniques in music creation and production, plus a series of free music labs and workshops presented by Moog Audio and a design hack/competition featuring OCAD students and faculty facilitated by Castor Design.
