Cloth is back with their electrifying new single, Pink Silence – the title track of their upcoming album, launching on April 25th through Rock Action. This release is extra special, with contributions from Portishead’s Adrian Utley, Owen Pallett, and Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite, adding layers of guitar magic and soulful synths that perfectly capture the track’s vibe.

This fresh single, produced by the brilliant Ali Chant (known for work with Perfume Genius, PJ Harvey, and Yard Act), follows a series of hits including Polaroid, Golden, and Stuck. It marks a return after their 2023 album, ‘Secret Measure,’ which was not only celebrated by critics but also nabbed a nomination for Scottish Album Of The Year.

Paul Swinton explains the inspiration behind Pink Silence: he describes it as that unique, transformative moment either at dawn or dusk—a time when the world feels both serene and strangely charged. It’s a time for quiet introspection, where the simple beauty of a sunset or sunrise carries both calm and a hint of mystery. That duality naturally blossomed into a love story that unfolds against the gentle, pastel backdrop of Pink Silence.

With their signature feather-light approach and a knack for quiet drama, Cloth has elevated their sound on this album. The addition of Ali Chant’s production finesse, combined with standout performances from Utley, Pallett, and Braithwaite, brings a delightful mix of rhythmic boldness, floating synth layers, and lush string textures. This album is a testament to the band embracing their evolving pop side while staying true to the thoughtful, expansive sound that has long defined them.

In crafting ‘Pink Silence’, Cloth let the songs evolve naturally—capturing a raw, instinctual energy where beauty and a touch of unease coexist in every note. The result is an album that feels as genuine and absorbing as those fleeting moments at twilight.
