Goat Girl release self-titled debut album

Goat Girl

Goat Girl – aka Clottie Cream, Rosy Bones, Naima Jelly and L.E.D – have released their debut, self-titled album. It’s out now at your local record shop or our you can grab it online here.

The keeners out there who pre-ordered it from the webstore received a limited edition fanzine designed and signed by the band (now sold out, although violet-coloured vinyl is still available).

Produced by Dan Carey, ‘Goat Girl’ was born out of the burgeoning, close-knit South London scene. It’s a glorious mesh of sharp-eyed observations like The Kinks, louche rage like The Slits, as well as swampy swaggering guitars and frontwoman’s Clottie Cream’s filthy drawl. She explains: “it’s an album that comes from growing up in London and the first-hand experience of our city’s devolution. We wanted to think of it as this place seen not necessarily just through our eyes, but someone who can’t get past the abnormalities and strange happenings that exist in our city. We think this gives the freedom lyrically and musically to explore unspoken truths and emotions that we all as humans feel.”

The album features previously revealed tracks Country Sleaze, Cracker Drool, Throw Me A Bone and of course The Man, for which the band made this killer video – a gender-flipped take on Beatlemania – watch it via YouTube below.

Goat Girl are hitting the UK/EU roads before heading to America to tour with fellow label mates Parquet Courts. Grab your tickets HERE.
