Istanbul-born and Tallinn-based, Göktuğ Babataş—better known as GØK2—is back with his most unapologetic project yet. ‘Therapy Doesn’t Work,’ his brand-new EP, lands on September 23, 2025, and trust us, it’s a wild ride.

To kick things off, GØK2 dropped the lead single B.F.T.D and the official video is live now. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/HztYk3p0nl4. Don’t forget to stream and get it stuck in your head—listen everywhere you get your tunes.

Why You Should Care

Since bursting onto the scene in 2022 with the distortion-soaked banger No Means No, GØK2 has been tearing down genre walls. Picture danceable electro beats crashing into punk-rock riffs, hip-hop swagger sliding into breakbeat chaos—dark yet playful, angry yet compassionate. At its core, it’s dance music with a punk-rock attitude, all wrapped up in razor-sharp DIY production.

Lyrically, GØK2 tackles mental health, social double standards, and the power of standing up for yourself. These are songs about owning who you are, complete with the wit and grit you’d expect from someone who built his first “studio” in a cramped kitchen with nothing but basic gear and big dreams.

From Istanbul to Tallinn

Göktuğ hails from Istanbul but has called Estonia home since 2016, when he left behind a turbulent chapter in Turkey to pursue a Master’s in Communication Management at Tallinn University. Legend has it that on a bleary dawn in Old Town, with a beer in hand, he decided Tallinn was where he needed to be—even if those winters are no joke.

He spent years holed up in his “most uncomfortable home studio,” pouring every ounce of emotion into demos. Eventually, GØK2 realized the missing ingredient was his own anger and honesty—the stuff that became his authentic voice. Thus, GØK2 was born: not a façade, but the raw, unfiltered him.
