The Horrors have revealed details of the follow-up to their 2011 release ‘Skying’. The band’s 4th album, ‘Luminous was recorded over 15 months in the band’s east London studio-laboratory-bunker with co-producer Craig Silvey (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, The National). The album will be out on May 6, 2014 via XL Recordings.

i see you

I See You
is the first track premiered from ‘Luminous’. The track is a seven-and-half-minute synth anthem recently unveiled at The Fly Awards in London, where The Horrors were joined onstage by Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and Stereogum exclaimed “the song is a pulsating jam that pushes eight minutes and sounds like the first Horrors song that could really fill a stadium.” Listen to / watch the lyrics video for I See You via YouTube below.

The Horrors were determined to make an album that was brighter, more positive, more electronic, and if this first track is any indication, they succeeded. “We’ve refined our sound,” says lead singer Faris Badwan, “and in terms of songwriting it is the record I’m happiest with.” Or, in the words of bass player Rhys Webb, “it’s not so much about heavier guitars as a heavier potency… We want to make music you can dance to, music that elevates…”

Album pre-orders are available on iTunes, with I See You available as an instant download to anyone ordering ‘Luminous.’ I See You is also available to buy as a standalone track.
