Jeffrey Innes has just released High Ends\u2019 debut album ‘Super Class<\/a>‘ physically and digitally via Dine Alone Records, and he has now revealed a new video lifted from the album. Album single Intoxicated<\/em> is a psych-rock anthem strapped with rhythmic shifts and a catchy melody. Watch the video via YouTube below.<\/p>\n

Video editor Tyler Witzel put a modernist art spin on the dance-able track when creating the \u201cIntoxicated\u201d video. He explains, \u201cAt the time Jeff asked me to do the video, I had been working on a few designs for large outdoor, public sculptures. I thought animation would feel right for the video and aesthetically I wanted it to have a ’70s era National Film Board feel. From that came this idea of a drunken visit to an art gallery where everything kind of looks like the inside of a person’s body. I didn’t want anything overly literal associating to the themes of the song but if you’re wondering what all the pink goo is about, it’s “Cartoon Moonshine” or Pepto Bismol. Your choice.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The ten-song ‘Super Class<\/a>‘ LP was recorded with producer Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, The New Pornographers) at his Vancouver Island facility. During the sessions, Gold & Youth drummer Jeff Mitchelmore handled percussion, Louise Burns and The New Pornographers’ Kathryn Calder contributed backing vocals, and Ladyhawk’s Darcy Hancock laid down guitar.<\/p>\n

Innes has taken his psychedelic, synth-soaked tunes\u00a0and live show to stages across North America – below are the remaining tour dates.<\/p>\n
